Covid-19 Update

Dear patients at Dentistry on Dupont  

We are happy to inform you that we are once again able to provide dental care for you and your family. You will notice a few physical changes in our office, which will help us to ensure the safety and well being of our patients and staff during these uncertain times. There has been some recent controversy in the media in regard to re-opening protocols for dental offices. Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and I can assure you that we are ready to receive our patients and provide them with the very highest standard of care.  

In order to keep us all protected during this pandemic and in the future, we have updated our protocols. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be a little different.  

• You will be asked some screening questions when you book your appointment and you’ll be asked those same questions again in the office.

• There will be a patient acknowledgement form regarding COVID-19  dental risks, that you will have to read and sign.

• You will be required to wait outside or in your car until we are ready to see you. We will call you to let you know when you are allowed to enter the office. ( we have reserved a parking spot across the street for your convenience)

• One person in the operatory at a time will now be in effect. That being said if you are accompanying a patient to their dental appointment you will be required to drop them off and wait in your car or outside of the clinic. There will be an exception for parents with children smaller than 8 y/o only.

• Upon entering there will be a hand sanitizer station that you will be asked to use. We will screen your temperature with a touchless forehead thermometer.   

•  You will be required to wear the mask at all times while in the office, with the exception of when we are working on you.

• Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointments. This will reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

• We are in the process of being 100% paperless office!  All forms and claims will be done through the computer. Medical history forms will be done online before coming into the office or on an iPad provided by front desk.

• You may be surprised that we’re wearing more protective gear – such as masks, face shields and gowns and other protective measures – than we normally do during your visit.
  

• Our office will have some physical changes as well:
  • Fewer chairs in the waiting room to prevent the amount of people allowed at a time. We will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys in order to reduce cross contamination.
  • All operatory rooms will have door screens to reduce aerosol sprays, as well as high standard medical grade air purifiers. These appliances allow cleaning of the air during and after each procedure; so that a complete cleanse of the air has taken place when you get into an operatory.
  • Plexiglas screen has been installed at the reception desk to protect yourself and our staff during check in and check out.
  • There will be hand sanitation stations throughout the office

• Rest assured all these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team.

• There will be a small additional charge to all dental visits. This charge helps cover all the additional safety measures our office has put in place to assure your well-being  and confidence that  our office is 100%  compliant with the RCDSO COVID 19 guidelines.
